Precisionism Paintings

Precisionism came about in the 1920s after World War I, lasted until after World War II and emphasizes painting scenes and objects, usually of industrial or mechanical subjects. These subjects are usually in the abstract by simplifying them to basic geometric patterns and displaying them in clear light. The style respected the beauty and power of machinery. Precisionism artists felt the 20th century was dependent on technology and machines, and displayed them in a glorious way. The American Precisionism painters tried to show pride in the growing industry of their country as a sign of the country's power and accomplishments.
